In a new video, Future’s Choe-Kun has revealed that his hit song “How to Be a Man” is inspired by his father’s death.
Choe-kun, who is also the lead singer of South Korean indie band A Pink, explained that his song’s title was a tribute to his father who died during his battle with cancer at the age of 37.
ChoE-KUN’s father died during a battle with prostate cancer at 37 years old ChoE-kuns father died when he was 37 years of age in 2010.
ChoE’s father, Choi Kyung-eun, was a decorated war veteran who served in the Korean War from 1953-1956 and served as a top officer in the army.
Choi Kyung was a prolific singer who also sang with South Korean hip-hop group BIGBANG.
He died at his home in Seoul on February 11, 2019.
ChoIeun’s father had two sons, one of whom died of cancer.
He was known for his love for music, which was especially apparent when ChoE and ChoKy were younger.
In ChoE’s song, “How To Be a Woman,” he writes, “My father died because of cancer when he turned 37.
He had to go through so much for his family, but I feel the same.”
