Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a mother-of-two who was shot dead in a public toilet in southern Maharashtra’s Bhandara district.
The case came to light on Wednesday after a video of the murder went viral on social media.
The victim’s husband, who had lodged a complaint at the police station, claimed that he was beaten up by his wife, Rakesh Sharma, when they went to visit a relative.
A complaint was registered against Sharma and another man, identified as Durga Sharma, who are yet to be arrested.
On Thursday, police said they had recovered two guns and four bullets from the toilet where the murder took place.
The two men, who were identified as Rakesham Sharma and Durga, have been charged with murder.
A case under sections 376 (murder), 307 (criminal intimidation) and 341 (common intention) of IPC was registered in the case.
